Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information at Art in the Cape.
Last updated: June 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Art in the Cape ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website, create an account, or make a purchase.
Information we collect
Information you provide: your name, email address, and phone number when you create an account or contact us; details needed to book or purchase workshops, summer camps, private lessons, gift cards, or gallery pieces; the email you submit to our newsletter; and any feedback you send us.
Payment information: card payments are processed by Square. We do not collect or store your full card number — Square handles it. We retain a record of the order (items, amount, and your email for the receipt).
Usage information: like most sites, we collect basic analytics (pages viewed, device/browser type, approximate location) through Google Analytics to understand and improve how the site is used.
How we use your information
To provide and operate the site; to process and fulfill your purchases and bookings; to send receipts and respond to your messages; to send our newsletter if you subscribe (you can unsubscribe at any time); and to maintain, secure, and improve the site.
Service providers we share with
We use trusted third parties to run the site and only share what they need to provide their service: Google Firebase (hosting, authentication, database, and image storage), Square (payment processing), and Google Analytics (usage analytics). Each processes data under its own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in sessions and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings and opt out of Google Analytics; disabling some cookies may affect sign-in or checkout.
Data retention & your choices
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the services, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at the email below.
Security
We protect data with industry-standard measures, including HTTPS in transit and server-side access rules that scope each person's data to their own account. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
Children's privacy
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Bookings for minors (e.g. summer camp) are made by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date above.
